Health Minister to Launch ‘Naresh Maa’ Program in Peshawar

Peshawar, The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister of Health is set to inaugurate the ‘Naresh Maa’ program, aimed at boosting maternal and child health through enhanced training and capacity building for medical personnel.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the program, presented to the Health Minister by a delegation from Nutrition International, includes certified training and fieldwork to improve health outcomes for mothers and children. The initiative will also introduce multi-micronutrient supplements as a superior alternative to folic acid in specific districts.

The ‘Naresh Maa’ program is part of a larger effort by Nutrition International, which is investing $80 million nationwide, including $23 million in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for various health initiatives. This funding supports the distribution of vitamin A capsules to 35.5 million children and ensures access to iodized salt for 180 million people, among other health benefits.
