Kayani Highlights Private Sector’s Role in Economic Growth

Lahore: Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani emphasized the crucial role of the private sector in driving economic growth, tax collection, and employment generation. During his address at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he pointed out the significant contributions made by private enterprises to the country’s economy.

According to Radio Pakistan, Kayani highlighted the government’s proactive engagement with the business community, noting that the Prime Minister has actively sought and incorporated their recommendations into the federal budget. This collaboration underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment in Pakistan.

Furthermore, Kayani announced the abolition of the Super Tax on exporters and the Export Development Surcharge. In a move to further empower the private sector, the chairmanship of the Export Development Fund has been entrusted to industry leaders, reflecting a strategic shift in policy to bolster export-related activities.
