227 Million Citizens Registered with NADRA, Coverage Reaches 97%

Islamabad: Two hundred and twenty-seven million citizens are now registered with the National Database and Registration Authority, pushing the country’s total coverage to nearly 97 percent.

According to Radio Pakistan, this was revealed in the annual performance report of NADRA to the Ministry of Interior for the year ending January 2026. Of the registered population, 48 percent are women and 52 percent are men, a distribution the authority says reflects a continuing improvement in women’s participation in the registration system.

NADRA’s biometric database now contains facial records of 170 million people, iris scans of 7 million individuals, and nearly 1.64 billion fingerprints.

This extensive biometric data collection underscores the authority’s efforts to enhance the accuracy and security of citizen identification in the country, further facilitating efficient service delivery and national security initiatives.
