45 Children Hospitalized After Suspected Food Poisoning in Maharashtra School

Mumbai: Forty-five schoolchildren in Maharashtra were hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning after consuming a mid-day meal at a private school near Thane, officials said. The affected students, aged between 8 and 11, experienced symptoms including nausea, headaches, and abdominal pain shortly after lunch.

According to Kashmir Media Service, an initial group of 38 children was admitted to a civic hospital in Kalwa, with an additional seven students hospitalized later in the evening. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the school management and the meal supplier following a complaint by a parent. No arrests have been made yet, and police investigations are ongoing.
