56 Newly Promoted Sub-Inspectors Honored at Central Police Office Ceremony

Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, conferred promotion ranks on 56 officers who were recently elevated to the rank of Sub-Inspector in a ceremony at the Central Police Office. The event was attended by the officers’ families, including parents and children, alongside senior police officials.

According to Punjab Police, the promotions are part of a wider effort that has seen over 26,000 departmental promotions in the past two years. The newly promoted officers from the Rawalpindi Region received their ranks during the ceremony. Dr. Anwar noted that the promotion of Assistant Sub-Inspectors to Sub-Inspectors has been completed in the regions of Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur.

Dr. Anwar announced that the Promotion Board will approve the promotion of Senior Traffic Wardens to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in an upcoming meeting. He also revealed plans for further promotions from Sub-Inspector to Inspector and DSP later this month. Changes to the Inspector Legal post were highlighted, including regularization, an increased age limit, and a reduction in the examination marks requirement.

Additionally, Dr. Anwar stated that the Punjab Police has successfully thwarted 16 terrorist attacks in recent months, reaffirming their commitment to combating terrorism and crime. The ceremony was attended by senior officers, including DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana and DIG Establishment-II Captain (Retired) Liaqat Ali Malik, who participated in conferring the ranks.
