Islamabad: The Transgender Protection Centre hosted an event on the Transgender Day of Remembrance, where Parliamentary Secretary for Human Rights, Mrs. Saba Sadiq, underscored the ongoing challenges faced by the transgender community in Pakistan. She highlighted the country’s commitment to eradicating violence and discrimination through existing legal measures.

According to Press Information Department, the event featured speeches from the Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) and several transgender individuals. These speakers shared personal experiences and advocated for enhanced protections. Mrs. Sadiq emphasized the need for collaborative efforts among governments, civil society, and international entities to promote an inclusive society that respects all gender identities.
