ADB President Commends Pakistan’s Economic Reforms and Pledges Continued Support

Islamabad: Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masatsugu Asakawa recently met with Pakistan’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr. Ahad Cheema, to discuss and endorse the country’s economic reforms which are showing signs of progressive recovery.

According to Press Information Department, during the meeting, President Asakawa praised the comprehensive reforms undertaken by Pakistan, including efforts to enhance tax revenues, improve the financial sustainability of the energy sector, and expand social protection. The discussions also covered ADB’s ongoing support in various sectors such as Public Private Partnership, climate resilience, and women’s financial inclusion. The event was marked by a groundbreaking ceremony for ADB’s new office in Islamabad, symbolizing a deepened commitment to Pakistan’s development.
