AGI SIGNS PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH ANTARA NEWS AGENCY (INDONESIA)

Jakarta, November 10, 2015 – The CEO of Italian news agency Agi-Agenzia Giornalistica Italia Alessandro Pica and the Chairman and Director of Indonesian news agency Antara Saiful Hadi signed a cooperation agreement between Antara and Agi, in the opening session of the “First bilateral dialogue between Indonesia and Italy”, during the State visit of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella in the Republic of Indonesia.

The Memorandum of Understanding is based on a strong editorial collaboration between the two news agencies, on the joint development of communication initiatives and on the organization of events and training activities, aimed at increasing the understanding of socio-political and economic dynamics in Italy and in Indonesia.

“We are honored to start this new partnership”, Antara’s Chairman and Director Saiful Hadi declared, “confident that this will be the beginning of a strengthened dialogue between Italy and Indonesia, as wished for by our highest institutions and well represented by the important State Visit of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella currently taking place in Indonesia”.

“To face the challenges and to seize the opportunities of an emerging economy such as Indonesia, it is important for Italian companies and institutions to act in a coordinated manner” – said Alessandro Pica, Agi’s CEO – “It is in this framework, and coherently with its international development strategy that reaches over 50 countries throughout the world, that Agi proposes itself as a tool to communicate Italy to the Indonesians, and to favor dialogue between two countries with great complementarities and great possibilities to cooperate”.
