Ahsan Iqbal Advocates for Increased Projects to Boost Gwadar’s Investment Potential.

Islamabad: Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has emphasized the importance of launching additional projects through public-private partnerships to transform Gwadar into a prominent investment hub. He made these remarks while leading a review meeting on the progress of the Gwadar Port Free Zone Development.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ahsan Iqbal urged relevant departments to swiftly resolve land disputes in the Gwadar Free Zone in accordance with agreements made with China Overseas Port Holding Company. He highlighted the necessity of accelerating China-Pakistan Economic Corridor infrastructure projects to improve Gwadar’s connectivity.

The Minister instructed the immediate release of allocated funds for the completion of the M-8 motorway in two sections within this year. Additionally, he directed the Quetta Electric Supply Company to finish pending transmission lines within a three-month timeframe to bolster Gwadar’s power supply.

To promote a favorable investment climate, Ahsan Iqbal suggested offering incentives to attract a range of companies to explore opportunities in Gwadar. He also called for the creation of a comprehensive roadmap to implement the Gwadar Master Plan over the next three years, aiming for a sustainable growth model for the region’s development.
