Islamabad: A meeting of the Civil Service Reforms Committee was held in Islamabad today with Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the chair. The meeting focused on key agenda items, including the recruitment, training, institutional restructuring, remuneration, and performance management system for civil servants.
According to Radio Pakistan, Minister for Environment and Climate Change Dr. Musaddaq Malik and Minister for Water Resources Mian Muhammad Moeen Wattoo participated in the meeting. Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the need to restructure the civil service in a way that enables officers to distinguish themselves through performance rather than by initial service allocation. He stressed the importance of devising a strategy that allows top talent at senior levels to compete for key positions purely on merit.
Musaddaq Malik highlighted the importance of introducing a pyramid system to ensure that only the top performers rise to the highest posts.
