AJ&K Prime Minister Assures Continued Subsidies and Open Dialogue with Muzaffarabad Traders

Muzaffarabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq, has reaffirmed the continuation of subsidies on affordable flour and electricity tariffs, addressing concerns about possible discontinuation. He assured the public not to heed rumors regarding these subsidies while emphasizing the government’s readiness for dialogue to tackle the challenges faced by Muzaffarabad city.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to form a long-term committee concerning the Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Ordinance. He also mentioned that a historic health package is being rolled out to address health-related issues and that steps are being taken to improve cleanliness in the capital. The government’s reconciliation committee maintains communication with the Public Action Committee, reinforcing that while differences are part of democracy, the government is prepared to listen to protesters’ viewpoints.

During his visit to the business community in Plate, the Prime Minister acknowledged the legitimacy of traders’ issues and invited them to discuss their concerns in delegations. He assured that dialogue would take place to address all matters promptly. The meeting included several government officials, political workers, and a large number of traders.
