Aleem Khan Advocates for Cashless Toll Collection on National Highways

Islamabad: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has instructed relevant authorities to implement a cashless electronic toll collection system on major highways and motorways nationwide. This initiative aims to improve efficiency, security, and public convenience.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister issued these directives while chairing a review meeting at the National Highways and Motorway Police Headquarters in Islamabad. He emphasized the need for the presence of Motorway Police personnel at all service areas along the motorways, ensuring uniform facilities for commuters throughout the network.

Additionally, Abdul Aleem Khan instructed the Motorway Police to align safety standards on the Murree Expressway and other significant national highways with the prescribed legal norms. Addressing the infrastructure of connecting roads in the northern regions, he called for special safety measures on mountain passes, particularly the urgent installation of safety guardrails on the Jaglot-Skardu Road and Mansehra-Kaghan-Naran Road.
