Amin expresses resolve to enhance IT exports to $15bln

Minister for Information Technology Amin ul Haque has expressed the resolve to increase IT exports to 15 billion dollars from exiting 2.6 billion dollars in next few years.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad this afternoon, he said investment in the IT sector will also be increased to 10 billion dollars.

The Minister said with the military and political leadership on one page, the focus of coalition government is on strengthening economy, improving employment opportunities, increasing remittances and creating ease of doing business.

He said we have focused on enhancing connectivity, skill development and investment in the IT sector.

Amin ul Haque said projects worth 77 billion rupees to improve cyber optic, 3G and 4G network facility especially in the far flung areas of the country are underway and will be completed by December this year.

He said 3.3 million freelancers have been imparted skill training.
