AMU authorities issue show cause notice to 4 Kashmiri students

New Delhi, September 10, 2019 (PPI-OT): Four Kashmiri students at the Aligarh Muslim University in Indian state of Uttar Pradesh have been served show-cause notices by the authorities for holding a protest at the university campus against the worst situation in occupied Kashmir.

The action comes after a group of Kashmiri students had taken out a march from the AMU library to the Bab-e-Syed gate and raised slogans against the curfew, communication blockade and atrocities by the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

In separate notices to the students, AMU proctor Afifullah Khan has asked them to submit their replies as soon as possible; otherwise they could face disciplinary action. The student protesters had also said they had still not been able to contact their families due to curfew and restrictions imposed across Jammu and Kashmir from August 5.
