Italy to provide support to Pakistan in poverty reduction, rural development

Italy has reaffirmed its commitment to support Pakistan in poverty reduction and rural development, technical and vocational training, cultural heritage and agriculture sector.

The commitment was expressed by Italy’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Marilina Armellin, who along with Head of Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Francesco Zatta called on Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Khan Cheema in Islamabad.

The ambassador apprised the minister about implementation progress of ongoing development portfolio funded by Italy, including special assistance package provided in wake of the 2022 catastrophic floods.

The Minister appreciated the longstanding bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Italy and assured effective implementation of ongoing projects.
