Annual Development Plan to Undergo Quarterly Reviews for Timely National Progress

Islamabad: Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal announced that the government has decided to review the Annual Development Plan on a quarterly basis to ensure the timely achievement of national objectives. This decision was disclosed during the Mid-Year Review Meeting of the Annual Plan 2025-26 held in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Minister Iqbal emphasized that every year, the government formulates an Annual Development Plan during the budget period to set national economic targets and assess the performance of various ministries. The recent decision to implement quarterly reviews aims to strengthen planning, monitoring, and implementation mechanisms.

The Minister further highlighted that governance should focus not only on performance delivery but also on building institutional capacity. This approach is essential to achieving defined targets and continuously improving future goals.

During the meeting, Ahsan Iqbal outlined the government’s long-term vision under the “URAAN Pakistan” initiative. The national target is to transform Pakistan into a one trillion-dollar economy by 2035. Regular review meetings will be conducted to monitor progress on these goals and ensure their effective implementation.
