Anti business measures in budget may be rejected by the business community: Mian Idrees

Karachi, May 25, 2015 (PPI-OT): The economy of Pakistan is passing through revival phase and the foreign investments particularly from China and other countries in general have been attracted for different development projects including energy and infrastructure sectors.

In this scenario, our country cannot afford any ruthless measures in forthcoming budget which discourage the FDI and business and trade activities in the country rather to provide safety and security to the foreign investments and friendly atmosphere for the business community. This was stated by Mian Idrees, President FPCCI while expressing his views about the forthcoming budget.

Mian Idrees further stated that the business community which consider the PML (N) government as business, trade and investment friendly government but this year they are worried about the forthcoming budget which seems un-liberalized. He further said that the business community is the real stakeholders and they are already under burdened with different levies of the government. He said that they would not be able to afford any new tax burden.

Mian Idrees further said that being the President FPCCI it his moral duty to suggest the government for betterment of the economy. He said that he is feeling that frustration is prevailing in the business community about the forthcoming budget and any anti business and trade budget may be rejected by the business community and they may be enforced to protest against the government. He further said that our country cannot afford political in-stability if any political party joined the mass against budget that will ultimately affect the forthcoming local bodies’ elections in Punjab and other provinces.

The President FPCCI urged the government to consider the proposals of business community who are the real stakeholders and genuine tax payers. He further requested the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif for a business friendly budget so that the people of Pakistan can get some relief.
