Anti-Narcotics Force Intensifies Efforts to Combat Drug Use Nationwide

Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) is stepping up efforts to eliminate narcotics use across the country, with new initiatives aimed at safeguarding youth from drug abuse.

According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, ANF Senior Director Syed Sijjeel Haider, speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, emphasized the agency’s commitment to making educational institutions drug-free. The nationwide campaign, launched in September of the previous year, underscores this resolve.

Haider reported that ANF operations have led to the seizure of over 177 metric tons of drugs since the campaign’s inception. The confiscated substances are valued at ten billion US dollars on the international market.

In addition to the drug seizures, over 2,200 individuals involved in drug-peddling activities have been arrested. Haider expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of various societal sectors, including media, educational institutions, students, the Higher Education Commission, and civil society, in supporting the ANF’s mission.
