Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) has expressed its gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5.
According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi addressed a press conference in Islamabad, emphasizing that the observance of the day signifies Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmir cause. He noted that this event reaffirms Pakistan’s consistent policy towards Kashmir and its support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle.
Safi, alongside other APHC-AJK leaders such as Altaf Hussain Wani, Shamim Shawl, and Sheikh Abdul Mateen, thanked Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for his visit to Muzaffarabad on the occasion. Safi described the visit as a clear statement of Pakistan’s dedication to the Kashmir cause.
He also commended the visit of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir to the base camp in Muzaffarabad, viewing it as a morale booster for the people of IIOJK and the Hurriyat leadership in Indian jails. According to him, the visit reinforced Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri struggle.
Other Hurriyat leaders extended their appreciation to the provisional governments of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir for their support of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
They pointed out that Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed with enthusiasm across Pakistan, from civil society to educational institutions and government offices, sending a message to the people of IIOJK that Pakistan stands with them.
