Srinagar: In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, people in several areas held massive protests against the anti-people policies of the occupying Indian administration on Friday.
According to Radio Pakistan, hundreds of people protested in Sopore, Shopian, Kupwara, and Jammu city against the lack of basic amenities.
Meanwhile, Indian forces continued their search operation in the Chhatro area of Kishtwar district for the third consecutive day on Friday. Forces have also intensified patrolling and surveillance in Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri, and Poonch districts.
On the other hand, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the unjustified use of black laws like the ‘Public Safety Act and UAPA’ by the Modi government to suppress the voice of Kashmiris. APHC Spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, urged the international community to take notice of the grave human rights violations being committed by the Indian government in the occupied territory.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has distanced himself from the decision to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Indian national song ‘Vande Mataram’ in schools. According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters in Budgam, Omar Abdullah urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to fulfill his promise of restoring statehood to Kashmir.
