Armed Forces Poised to Support NDMA in Relief Operations: Field Marshal

Islamabad: The Armed Forces of Pakistan are fully prepared to support the civil administration and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts. This assurance was given by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, during his visit to the National Emergencies Operation Centre at the NDMA Headquarters in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Field Marshal Munir received a comprehensive briefing on the nation’s disaster preparedness and the coordinated response strategies in place for the ongoing monsoon season. The Chairman of NDMA provided insights into the operational capabilities of the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) and its technology-driven response mechanisms, such as “Disaster Lens 2026,” which offers real-time insights into the current monsoon conditions and multi-hazard monitoring.

Field Marshal Munir commended the NDMA for its efforts in enhancing Pakistan’s national disaster management capacity. He highlighted the importance of readiness, seamless inter-agency coordination, and a swift response to protect lives and vital infrastructure.
