Rawalpindi, June 04, 2015 (PPI-OT): Central Chairman of the All Pakistan CNG Association Captain (retd) Shuja Anwar on Thursday said around 400 CNG stations have been opened across Punjab which is beginning of the revival of world’s largest CNG industry. He said that remaining CNG stations would start operations within next 4 to five working days which will benefit masses through environmentally friendly and affordable fuel.
Talking to office bearers of different transport associations, he said that the government decision to reopen CNG stations will have appositive impact on environment and forex situation as it will replace costly fuel.
Captain Shuja said that CNG stations in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum and other cities are now functional and the owners of remaining stations should complete formalities as soon as possible so that gas company could resume supply of gas to them. He said that CNG is still almost 30 percent cheaper than petrol which is enough incentive for masses and transporters.
The leader of CNG sector asked transporters to get their kits and cylinders ready after service so that they can operate on economical fuel which is beneficial for everyone. At the occasion, transporters lauded the move of the government to reopen CNG outlets and demanded consistency in the policy.
