As per directions of IGP Punjab Shoaib Dastagir, crackdown against criminals and anti-social elements is continued

Lahore, May 04, 2020 (PPI-OT): LAHORE: As per directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir, crackdown against anti-social elements in all districts across the province is continued. In this regard, Vehari police under the leadership of district police officer Ehsan Ullah Chauhan achieved many successes by noosing necks of anti-social elements. Likewise, In a campaign by Vehari police against arrest of proclaimed offenders, police teams arrested 314 dangerous proclaimed offenders involved in cases of murder, dacoity and robbery along with other heinous crimes.

Among these arrested offenders 26 are of A category whereas 288 are of B category criminals. Besides it, in an operation against criminals, 61 accused have been arrested and huge amount of weapons have been recovered from them including 01 kalashinkov, 07 guns, 02 rifles, 46 pistols, 03 revolvers and hundreds of bullets. While taking actions against anti-social elements, 102 cases have been lodged and 43 kilo chars, 1416 litre wine with lehn, 06 working wine kilns and wine making equipment have been recovered from their possession.

Following national action plan, 30 cases have been registered among them 12 cases against violation of loud speaker act, 03 against violation of tenancy act and 15 cases have been registered against violation of security ordinance. Moreover, many other cases have been registered in different police stations of Vehari including 02 cases again violation of fire work, 23 cases of over speeding, 08 cases of power theft, 25 cases of kite flying along with registration of cases of price control, gambling act, illegal petrol agencies and illegal gas refilling.

Furthermore, 71 cases have registered under section 144 in the wake of Corona virus during this period, total 114 cases have been registered under crime property among which 89 cases have been traced and amount of more than 52 lacs of property have been recovered. IG Punjab stressed that the directions issued by the government of Punjab with respect to Corona lock down should be strictly implemented and police should be on high alert for Ramzan security and also crackdown against criminals and anti-social elements.

He added that, security plan of sensitive places, religious and public places should be reviewed whereas the officials deputed over security duty should be briefed about challenges and sensitivities of their duty so that they may perform their duties with diligence.
