Assistant Secretary Ryan to travel to Islamabad, Doha and Amman

Washington, DC, April 06, 2016 (PPI-OT):Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan will travel April 7-12 to Pakistan, Qatar, and Jordan to promote and strengthen the Department of State’s cross-cultural and educational diplomacy efforts. In Islamabad, Pakistan, Assistant Secretary Ryan will meet with Pakistani government officials to discuss ongoing cooperation in education, science, and technology related to the “U.S.-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor.”

Assistant Secretary Ryan will then travel to Doha, Qatar, where she will engage with partners on international exchanges and discuss ways to enhance student recruitment from Qatar. In Amman, Jordan, Assistant Secretary Ryan will connect with current exchange participants and alumni, discuss educational opportunities for refugees, and visit a cultural heritage site supported in its restoration by the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation.
