Atrocities on Kashmiris India’s state policy: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, February 16, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paying tributes to the two students including a girl by Indian Army and police in Pulwama has said that perpetration of atrocities on Kashmiris has remained a state policy of India and its authorities in the territory.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who is under house arrest in Srinagar, in a statement said, “For the past several decades, Kashmiri people have been at the receiving end of inhumane treatment and gravest atrocities.” Indian forces killed Danish Farooq and Shaista Hamid in Pulwama on Sunday.

The Mirwaiz pointing out that the third generation of Kashmiris was now being deliberately targeted said, “The killing of two young innocent students is a proof that the Indian authorities are executing a well-planned conspiracy to annihilate and wipe out the entire generation of Kashmiri youth.”

He said that the genuine voice of the people of Kashmir demanding their just right to self-determination could not be crushed through excessive use of force and unleashing military might on the innocent civilians. “The oppressive and repressive tactics would not help push the long-standing Kashmir dispute under the carpet.”

The Mirwaiz further said that peace would continue to elude the entire South Asia until this the conflict over Kashmir was settled in its historical context. Meanwhile, Hurriyet leaders including Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Zamruda Habib, Fareeda Behanji, Muhammad Yasin Attai and Muhammad Shafi Reshi in their separate statements condemned the imposition of curfew in Srinagar, Pulwama and other parts of the territory. The leaders also condemned the killing of two students by Indian forces in Pulwama.

The Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation President, Mohammad Yasin Khan, in a statement criticized Governor NN Vohra’s silence over the systematic implementation of RSS agenda in Kashmir. “The killing of innocent civilians is a clear message that RSS is executing systematic massacre of people of Kashmir as a part of a deep-rooted conspiracy,” he added.
