Attacks on Panchayet members mysterious: Gilani

Srinagar, January 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has termed the recent killing of a Sarpanch and injuring of a woman Panch in separate attacks by unidentified persons in occupied Kashmir as mysterious incidents saying that it is not clear who is behind these killings. Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the killings of Sarpanchs had created doubts in the mind of a common man.

The veteran Hurriyet leader said that though the puppet administration had blamed militants (mujahideen) for the killing of Panchayat representatives, so far no investigation had proved their involvement in the incidents. “At the same time, no militant outfit has claimed responsibility of the attacks on Sarpanchs,” he said, adding, “This all has made the incidents including those happened in the past as mysterious.”

Syed Ali Gilani while referring to the illegal detention of Hurriyet activist, Abdullah Nasir, said that the Indian police had charged him with murder of a Sarpanch. However, he added, the puppet Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, had refuted the charges and had said that the militants were not involved in these killings.

The veteran leader maintained that a number of Indian agencies were working as per their assigned agenda in the territory. “In the past, under the fictitious cover of Al-Faran, the agencies killed foreign tourists to malign the ongoing liberation movement and later blamed militant organizations,” he pointed out.
