Azad Jammu and Kashmir cabinet approves to raise minimum wages of unskilled workers

Muzaffarabad, June 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir cabinet on Thursday approved to raise the minimum wages of unskilled workers from Rs7, 000 to Rs9000 per month. The decision was taken during cabinet meeting which was presided over by Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudry Abdul Majeed .Minister for Education for Colleges Matloob Inqalabi and the Minister for Food Javeed Bhudanvi briefed the media on the cabinet meeting decisions.

They said the cabinet has also approved the big city status for Kotli and Palandhri with the establishment of two Information Technology (IT) universities. The cabinet also discussed the blasphemy issue reported couple of weeks here, saying there was no such an issue except a “bid to harm Pak-China relations”.

The ministers said the cabinet has decided to double the house rent of ministers from Rs25,000 to Rs55000. he said that the cabinet also approved the Azad Kashmir Privatization Commission Ordinance enabling government to use the all open government land of the different districts of Azad Kashmir.

The ministers said that the government of Azad Kashmir is committed to rehabilitate the Kashmiri refugees who crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in 1990s would be given National Identity Cards (NIC) aimed to get the benefits equal to the citizen of Azad Kashmir to live the normal life wherever they want to live in AJK and Pakistan. The Azad Kashmir cabinet in its resolution condemned the human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir.
