Islamabad: Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has reiterated the government’s firm commitment to eliminate terrorism from the province. Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday, he stated that the government will not allow anyone to challenge the writ of the state.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister highlighted the recent success by security forces in the Chaghi district, where an Intelligence Based Operation resulted in the killing of two terrorists and the arrest of a third. He mentioned that one of the killed terrorists was identified as Zubair Advocate, code-named Shah G, who was involved in facilitating terrorists, recruiting for the Balochistan Liberation Army, and other militant activities.
Sarfaraz Bugti praised the armed forces for their intelligence-based operations, which have recently thwarted numerous terrorist plans. He also announced that the federal and provincial governments have decided to launch an operation against illegal poppy cultivation, utilizing satellite imagery to identify and target areas of farming. The Chief Minister pledged that the government will not allow the poppy-free status of Pakistan to be compromised.
