Balochistan Declares Public Holiday for Hindu Community During Diwali

Quetta: The Government of Balochistan has announced a public holiday for Hindu government employees from October 31 to November 2, 2024, in observance of Diwali, the Hindu religious festival. This decision affects government employees of the Hindu community throughout the province.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, a notification was issued by the Department of Employment and General Administration Balochistan to formalize the holiday period. This move allows Hindu government employees to celebrate Diwali with their families and communities. Additionally, salaries for these employees were released in 2024 to facilitate the holiday.
