Balochistan Minister Calls for Focused Approach to Constitutional Amendments Amid Security Concerns

Quetta: Provincial Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran emphasized that the 26th constitutional amendment should not be turned into a contentious issue, noting that constitutional changes are a regular part of governance, with 25 amendments having already been made.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, Khetran remarked that while the Holy Quran is unchangeable, constitutional amendments can and should be adapted over time to suit evolving circumstances. He underscored the need to maintain the government’s authority, stressing that decisive action must be taken to prevent further violence and ensure that hostile elements are not given free rein. Khetran warned that if unchecked, these forces could become more dangerous, and the government would take necessary measures to restore order.
