Motorways and Highways to Connect Economic Zones, Ahsan Iqbal Announces

Islamabad: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal announced that the government is actively working to link motorways and highways with economic zones in a bid to strengthen tourism and drive economic growth across the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ahsan Iqbal, during a meeting in Islamabad, stated that the government’s focus is on transforming transport corridors into economic corridors. He highlighted that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) offers a unique opportunity to bring socio-economic change, particularly in Balochistan and other underdeveloped areas.

The minister also stressed that connecting industrial and agricultural areas with special economic zones will serve as key drivers of growth. Infrastructure development, including the construction of highways and motorways in the northern regions and rural areas, will play a crucial role in revolutionizing the country’s economy, he added.
