Barrister Shahzad Akbar chairs meeting of Stakeholders to review decisions taken in the meeting a day earlier to control the spread of Coronavirus

Islamabad, April 02, 2020 (PPI-OT): Special assistant to Prime Minister/ Minister of State Barrister Shahzad Akbar chaired a Meeting of Stakeholders to review the decisions taken in the meeting a day earlier to control the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in ICT. Secretary Ministry of Interior, Secretary Ministry of Health, Additional Secretary-II Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner ICT, Deputy Commissioner ICT and DIG Operations ICT attended the meeting. Special assistant to Prime Minister briefed the participants about the Requirements of Islamabad to beef up efforts to check the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

 

In the light of discussion and deliberation, the following decisions were passed by the Minister of State, giving directions to Secretary Health for implementation in close-Coordination with ICT authorities. To arrange 50 additional dedicated beds in proper isolation wards for suspected Covid_19 patients within one week. Provision of ventilators and expert staff required for effective functioning of ventilators. Provision of 12 additional ambulances for transportation of Patients.

 

Employment of 15 additional Rapid response teams for Surveillance, spotting and transportation of suspected COVID-19 patients. Availability of doctors, paramedics and requisite equipments at three newly established quarantine centres at Hotel Redison Blue Area, Hotel De Papea and Hill View Hotel Jinnah Super F-7 Markaz.
