Karachi: Beco Steel Limited has issued a formal notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange regarding an upcoming board meeting scheduled for October 22, 2024. The meeting will take place at Lahore.
The agenda for this significant gathering is to review and approve the audited financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. According to the notice, the company has also declared a “Closed Period” from October 15 to October 23, during which there will be restrictions on trading activities by the company’s directors, CEO, and other executives.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), these measures are in compliance with Clause 5.6.1 (d) of PSX Regulations, which mandates such a closed period to prevent any insider trading or undue market influence during sensitive financial disclosures.
The Chief Executive Officer of Beco Steel, Muhammad Ali Shafique, has communicated this update through a formal letter addressed to the General Manager of the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The notice also highlighted that the company’s TRE Certificate Holders should be informed accordingly about the restrictions during the closed period.
This forthcoming meeting is particularly crucial as it follows the end of the fiscal year, and the decisions made could have significant implications for the company’s financial health and stock market performance.
