Benazirabad: On October 27, Benazirabad joined cities across the country in observing Kashmir Black Day, expressing solidarity with Kashmiris under Indian occupation. A significant rally led by Assistant Commissioner Shah Iqbal Tunio highlighted the community’s support and featured robust participation from government officials, educators, and citizens.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally commenced at the Deputy Commissioner’s office and concluded at the NawabShah Press Club. Participants carried banners and chanted slogans against India’s long-standing control over Kashmir, which they labeled as the beginning of a tragic chapter in history that started on October 27, 1947.
Assistant Commissioner Iqbal Ahmed Tunio, alongside District Education Officer Muhammad Saleem Bhatti and other speakers, condemned the continued oppression and violence against the Kashmiri people. They voiced a strong commitment to supporting Kashmir’s fight for self-determination through moral, political, and diplomatic avenues.
The event saw widespread involvement from various sectors, including Chief Minister Nawab Shah Muhammad Akram, Sarfaraz Khand, and representatives from revenue, police, education, and information departments, along with numerous social organizations. Similar demonstrations were held in Taluka Sakarand and Qazi Ahmed, further underscoring the regional support for Kashmiri rights.
