Bihar’s Muslim Community in Distress After Grave Desecrations and Body Thefts

Bhagalpur: The Muslim community in Bhagalpur, Bihar, is engulfed in fear and anger following the desecration of graves in Ashraf Nagar. Unidentified individuals have been exhuming bodies, raising concerns about a possible organized criminal network.

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, the most recent incident involved the grave of a child who had been buried a few days earlier. Residents discovered blood stains and parts of the shroud near the grave, confirming the theft of the body.

This ongoing situation has left the community deeply unsettled, as similar incidents have repeatedly occurred. A local elder expressed distress, questioning the motives behind such acts. Residents suspect an illegal syndicate might be involved, possibly linked to organ trafficking or black magic practices. Despite repeated appeals, authorities have yet to effectively address these violations, sustaining the community’s fear.

Local leaders and the families of the deceased are calling for swift action, urging authorities to increase security measures at the graveyard and apprehend those responsible. The police have initiated an investigation but have not made any arrests so far.
