Bilal Kayani Reaffirms Support for Women’s Empowerment in Budget Consultations

Islamabad: Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani has reiterated the government’s commitment to expanding opportunities for women and enhancing their meaningful participation in economic and social development. He emphasized this during a consultative meeting held in Islamabad with representatives from women’s chambers of commerce and industry nationwide.

According to Radio Pakistan, the meeting focused on discussions about the upcoming federal budget, with the Minister expressing appreciation for the contributions of women entrepreneurs to the country’s economic development. He listened to the concerns and suggestions from the participants, ensuring them that their proposals would be meticulously considered within the policymaking process.

The Minister further assured the delegation of ongoing cooperation to address issues impacting women-owned businesses. The discussions covered various topics, including women’s economic inclusion and entrepreneurship, with measures proposed to strengthen the role of women in Pakistan’s economy.

Participants at the meeting shared recommendations for the ongoing budget preparation process. The event brought together representatives from approximately 40 women’s chambers, including those from major cities such as Islamabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Sargodha, Karachi, and others.
