Srinagar, May 30, 2023 (PPI-OT): The ruling Bharatiya Janata in India has explicitly shown its intention of seeking death penalty for illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik. Days after the dreaded India’s National Investigation Agency moved the Delhi High Court for conversion of Muhammad Yasin Malik’s life sentence into a death penalty, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Altaf Thakur on Tuesday said, his party will welcome “if the court awards death sentence to the JKLF chief”.

The NIA on May 26 approached the Delhi High Court seeking death penalty for Malik, who was awarded life term by a trial court in a fake case. Altaf Thakur who is BJP IIOJK chapter spokesman, talking to reporters in Srinagar said that Muhammad Yasin Malik should be given capital punishment. “If he is handed death sentence by the court, BJP will welcome it.”
