Karachi: In a call for federal support, Malik Khuda Bakhsh, President of the Pakistan Business Forum’s Karachi Region, has endorsed the initiatives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif aimed at simplifying business financing for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). He highlighted the need for the federal government to implement similar measures to provide loans to entrepreneurs.
Bakhsh emphasized that the Punjab government’s steps to ease access to business loans are crucial for fostering small industries and generating employment opportunities nationwide. He urged federal authorities to follow suit by offering easy loans tailored to the needs of SME owners.
He suggested that facilitating the establishment of businesses such as EV charging stations, transport services, and various retail sectors could significantly address unemployment. By providing financial support to these ventures, the federal government could stimulate economic growth and job creation.
Furthermore, Bakhsh recommended that Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb consider granting tax exemptions to first-time small business owners in the upcoming budget. This proposal aims to help new entrepreneurs establish their businesses, ultimately contributing to national tax revenues in the long term.
