CCTV cameras to be installed at worship places of minorities: Dr. Khatumal Jeewan

Karachi, August 26, 2016 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Minority Affairs Dr Khatumal Jeewan has said that Sindh government has taken practical steps to provide security to the worship places of minorities in the province. “CCTV cameras will be installed at all the religious and prayers places including Temples, Churches, Gurdawaras etc across the province to protect them from any intrusion and provide peaceful and safe environment to the people of minority communities to offer prayers without any fear,”

Talking to various delegations of Hindus, Christians and Sikhs at his office today, Dr. Khatumal Jeewan said he was under strict orders from Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah that efforts should be taken to provide conducive and level-playing environment to the people of minorities to play their role in the nation-building and progress. “PPP is the only Party which upholds equality and treats all the citizens as equal, he added.

He said that unopposed and with thumping majority victory of 18 Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of different Town Committees, Municipal Committees and District Councils from minority communities in Sindh with PPP tickets was a shining example of empowerment of non-Muslims”.

Dr Khatumal Jeewan said that he won’t look into the past but from now on the funds of the Minority Affairs Department would go to the deserving people without any discrimination and he was planning for renovation and restoration of hundreds of Temples, Churches and Gurdawras in Sindh.

“I am thankful to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his team for increasing 100% budget of Minority Affairs Department and assured them that each penny at his Department would be spent on the genuine welfare of the communities including scholarships, financial assistance and grants,” he stated.

Delegations of Hindu Panchayats and Christian communities appreciated the Minister-Incharge of Minority Affairs Department for his fair treatment to all the minorities and assured cooperation to him for smooth working relationships and harmonious coexistence.
