Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee called on Lieutenant General The Commander of Sri Lanka Army in Colombo

Rawalpindi: General Khalid Shameem Wynne Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka called on Lieutenant General Jagth Jaysuriya, the Commander of Sri Lanka Army in Colombo. Chairman discussed matters related to mutual interest and measures to further the existing close military ties.

Later, Chairman visited Kilnochchi in Northern Sri Lanka where he was briefed by Security Force Commander on the ongoing Humanitarian Operations. He witnessed the conduct of the demining operations in the field area. Chairman appreciated the efforts of Sri Lankan Armed Forces in establishing safe and secure environment for the Sri Lankan people which served as an example for others to emulate. Chairman also visited the natural harbour at Trincomalee and was briefed about the significance of this port by Commander Eastern Naval Command.
