Chief Justice of Pakistan visits Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court

Islamabad, June 26, 2014 (PPI-OT): Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani visited Human Rights Cell, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad today i.e. 26.06.2014. He inspected the human rights case files and met with officers and staff of the cell.

During the visit, his lordship discussed that the effective functioning of Human Rights Cell materializes the vision of inexpensive and easy access to justice as the applicants approach this forum for redressal of their grievances simply by writing an application to Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court. He added that establishment of expatriates wing in the Human Rights Cell initiated by him has proved a success and is providing efficacious arm for redressal of grievances of overseas Pakistanis.

Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan showed his satisfaction that the Cell disposed of more than 27000 human rights complaints during last six months including 531 applications of expatriates providing required relief while 700 applications of expatriates are among 13000 applications which are in process.

His lordship advised the officers and staff of Human Rights Cell to keep working with same zeal and enthusiasm, considering it as a service to humanity.
