Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan meets Air Marshal Farhat Hussain Khan

Islamabad, April 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah visited Air Headquarters. He met with Air Marshal Farhat Hussain Khan, Vice Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, who is also the President Ski Federation of Pakistan. Both the dignitaries discussed matters pertaining to development of the Naltar Ski Resort. President Ski Federation of Pakistan briefed the Chief Minister on aims and objectives of Pakistan Air Force for the development and uplift of the area into an International Standards Ski City.

Chief Minister commended the efforts of Pakistan Air Force and the Ski Federation in acquisition of chairlift and general welfare of the people with special emphasis on education to the locals. The Chief Minister specially appreciated volunteer programme initiated by PAF under the directive of Chief of the Air Staff, for improving education in Naltar.

He committed to provide electricity to Naltar and to re-construct the road between Nomal and Naltar for the improvement of tourism in the picturesque valley. Chief Minister appreciated the dedicated efforts of PAF in integrating people of the area into main stream and addressing their reservations of isolation.

President Ski Federation of Pakistan requested the Chief Minister to revive the FG Primary School for Girls at Naltar so that these young girls can effectively play their part in the development of a healthy society. The Chief Minister promised to issue orders for the revival of the school.
