Chief Ministers meet Prime Minister

Islamabad, March 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): Mr. Najam Sethi, Chief Minister Punjab, Mr. Zahid Qurban Alvi, Chief Minister Sindh, Mr. Justice (Retd) Tariq Parvez, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Nawab Ghous Buksh Barozai, Chief Minister Balochistan met Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso at the Prime Minister’s House this evening.

The meeting which continued for an hour discussed threadbare various issues relating to the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking to the Chief Ministers, Prime Minister Khoso said that the government is committed to timely, peaceful, free and fair elections in the country.

General elections are sacred trust of the people of Pakistan and we have to conduct it in an impartial and transparent manner, said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso said that Chief Ministers of the provinces have an important role in creating a conducive environment so that the people of Pakistan can exercise their right to choose freely.

The Prime Minister assured the Chief Ministers that the Federal government will provide all possible resources to the provinces to facilitate the Election Commission of Pakistan in holding general elections in the country.

The Prime Minister said that he expects the government servants and officials to remain impartial and in case of complaints strict action will be taken against them.

The Chief Ministers assured the Prime Minister that they are firming up arrangements to maintain law and order and ensuring that political parties and candidates can campaign and enlighten the people on their plans and programme. The meeting was followed by dinner hosted by the Prime Minister.
