Chinese delegation visits Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to explore collaborations for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project

Islamabad, June 12, 2015 (PPI-OT): A 14 member Chinese delegation of Kashgar city visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Mr. Chen Zhijiang, Deputy Commissioner of Kashgar Administration to explore collaborations with Pakistani counterparts in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) flagship project. The delegation was representing Kashgar Administration, Kashgar Chamber of Commerce, Kashgar Foreign Affairs Office, Kashgar Trade Bureau, Kashgar Economic Zone, Kashgar Trade and Logistics Association and Guangzhou New City.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Chen Zhijiang, Deputy Commissioner of Kashgar Administration said that CPEC has laid the foundation of developing Pak-China long term partnership and this flagship project would create plenty of business and investment opportunities for entrepreneurs of both countries.

He said 3000 Km long mega project would connect Gawadar and Kashgar through a network of roads and railways links and would open up new windows of business opportunities for both countries. He stressed that businessmen of both countries should get ready to take full advantage of CPEC project and should not miss this golden opportunity to enhance business prospects.

He highlighted the investment opportunities for Pakistani businessmen in Kashgar city. He said CPEC would set up many industrial concentrations of electronic, manufacturing, textile, logistics, financial, cultural and tourism industries in Kashgar and Pakistani investors should make investment in these industrial zones.

In his welcome address, Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry highlighted the investment potential in various sectors of Pakistan’s economy. He said that economy of Pakistan was in a recovery mode and time was ripe for Chinese investors to enhance investment in Pakistan, especially in energy, infrastructure development and exploration of natural resources. He said Pakistan offered affordable cost of doing business to Chinese investors and they should set up manufacturing plants in Pakistan to promote exports to other countries.

He said that CPEC offered tremendous prospects for strengthening business collaborations between both countries and hoped that this mega project would be helpful in further strengthening trade and economic ties between Pakistan and China. He assured that ICCI would fully cooperate for identifying potential areas of joint investment and business ventures between entrepreneurs of both countries in CPEC projects.
