Clarification on Plot No: ST-21, Block-5 KDA, Scheme-5, from Spokesman of Chief Secretary Sindh

Karachi, May 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): This is with reference to a news item which has appeared in the media regarding dispute about the Plot No: ST-21, Block-5, Clifton Karachi.

It is clarified that the PLOT No: ST-21, BLOCK -5, was sub-divided by KDA, in 1986. The KDA allotted 39, 344.62 sq. yards to civil Aviation Authority for construction of a squash complex while the remaining part of a plot measuring 40, 000 sq. yards which was assigned number 21-B was reserved for Park.

The Civil Aviation Authority in 2012 agreed to give 5000 sq. yards out of its 39,344.62 sq. yards plot as a gift to convert of Jesus and Marry School for educational purpose. The gift declaration was signed and executed between CAA and CJ and m School in May 2012.

In May 2013, an agreement was signed between KMC and Karachi Grammar School whereby the area reserved for Park was assigned to KGS under the KMC’S adopt a Park policy.

The record of KDA and KMC shows that various plan prepared in 1985, 2012, and 2013 assign different locations to the site allocated to CAA and the Site reserved for park on the said plot which is the reason for the present dispute between the convent of Jesus and Massy and Karachi Grammar School.

The Chief Secretary office has taken notice of the situation and has ordered an enquiry to ascertain the facts from the relevant record based on which the sites will be demarcated for the park and the School as per the correct interpretation of the master plan.
