CM Launches PERA to Control Prices, Curb Hoarding

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has introduced the Punjab Enforcement Regulatory Authority (PERA) as the government’s primary force for enforcing law and price control in the province.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Chief Minister, during the inaugural ceremony of PERA in Lahore, stated that the authority aims to control the prices of essential commodities, eliminate encroachments, and curb hoarding activities. PERA is set to commence its operations from the Lahore division and will eventually expand across Punjab, supported by a workforce exceeding eight thousand personnel.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that individuals involved in overpricing, profiteering, and hoarding will face stringent actions by PERA. She also highlighted the effectiveness of the Crime Control Department, which has contributed to a notable decrease in crime across the province, thereby enhancing law and order.
