CM Punjab Announces Measures to Tackle Severe Economic Challenges

Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced extraordinary measures to address the severe economic challenges arising from the ongoing regional conflict. Under her directive, schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed from tomorrow until the thirty-first of this month, although examinations will continue as scheduled.

According to Radio Pakistan, educational institutions are permitted to conduct online classes during this period. In government offices, a Work from Home policy has been introduced, with only essential staff required to attend in person. Provincial ministers will no longer have access to official fuel until the petroleum crisis is resolved. Additionally, a 50 percent immediate reduction has been implemented in petrol and diesel allowances for government officials’ vehicles.
