Command and Control System to Get Extension

Karachi: Administrator KMC Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that Command and Control System was playing very effective role in the monitoring of processions held in the city and to control traffic jam and street crimes. He said this while chairing a meeting on the extension project of Command and Control System which was also attended by CPLC Chief Ahmed Chinoy, Addl.I.G Police Akhtar Hussain Gorchani, Ad. I.G Police Technical and Transport Tanvir Ahmed Tahir, Director I.T Sindh Police Tabassum Abid, Brigadier Head Quarters Pakistan Rangers Colonel Zia Ahmed Khan, Senior Technical Officer I.TGOS Akhtar Hussain Baloch, Senior Director I.T KMC Dr. A.D Sajnani, Masood Naqiof CPLC, Arshad Sultan, Ateequr Rehman and Arif Rajan of Command and Control Centre at Civic Centre.

Administrator Karachi on this occasion said that this system was came into being in January 2008 to protect and secure the city infrastructure and to provide safe environment to citizens which has brought best results so far.

The participants of the meeting were informed that the Command and Control System was working on 24/7 hour basis. About 152 Video surveillance cameras were being used in this system to monitor various locations in the city and the law enforcement agencies were informed immediately after noticing any unusual situation in the city.

This system had helped in controlling street crimes and traffic jam conditions in the city while overseeing various processions held in the city on different occasions. He said that the network of this system was being extended now and new cameras were being installed to ensure full monitoring of whole city. Senior Director I.T KMC Dr. A.D Sajnani gave briefing on this occasion regarding command and control system.
