Communications Minister Stresses Zero Tolerance for Overloading

Islamabad: Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has directed the relevant authorities to establish a transparent and comprehensive accountability system to monitor weigh stations on highways and eliminate enforcement loopholes. Chairing a high-level meeting regarding the implementation of Axle Load Management in Islamabad today, he emphasized zero tolerance for overloading.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister instructed the National Highway and Motorway Police, Traffic Police, and the National Highway Authority to maintain round-the-clock vigilance at all weigh stations. The Minister stressed that heavy financial penalties must be imposed on violators to remove any economic incentive for truck owners to exceed permissible loads.
