COMSTECH and PIEAS Sign MoU to Boost Scientific Collaboration

Islamabad: A memorandum of understanding has been signed between COMSTECH and the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences to enhance collaboration in science, technology, and innovation. COMSTECH is the OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Science and Technology Cooperation, while the Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences, popularly known as PIEAS, is the leading research institute of higher learning in the country. Coordinator General COMSTECH Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary and Rector PIEAS Dr. Naseem Irfan signed the MoU.

According to Radio Pakistan, the MoU is aimed at strengthening research, capacity building, and knowledge exchange among OIC member states. Under this partnership, both organizations will jointly develop and implement educational and scientific programs, organize international conferences, workshops, and training courses, and facilitate faculty and student exchanges. A major highlight of the MoU is the introduction of the Jabar Bin Hayan Scholarship Program, enabling students from OIC member states to pursue undergraduate, master’s, PhD, and post-doctoral studies at PIEAS.
